How can one reflect the bright moon in the heart?
Greetings to the Sunday of a bright mind, always.
(20231001)
Last year, clouds cleared on the Mid-Autumn Festival,
This year, clouds persist on the Mid-Autumn Festival.
Good times are rare in a lifetime,
Especially as white hair creeps in.
In my heart, there is a bright full moon,
A reunion lasting through the ages, never lacking.
Mountains, rivers, and the vast earth embrace the clear brightness,
Why bother with the Mid-Autumn Festival to appreciate the beauty?
—Wang Yangming's "Mid-Autumn"
People experience joys and sorrows, separations and reunions,
The moon waxes and wanes, hidden and full.
Life is always changing; in times of hardship, spirits may plummet,
In times of prosperity, one might unconsciously become arrogant.
Emotions are constantly influenced by circumstances, controlled by external factors, never truly free.
Last year, clouds loomed over the Mid-Autumn Festival, but the sky cleared to reveal the moon. This year, however, clouds persist throughout the day.
In a year, there are twelve months, and the full moon only appears once each month. Life is limited, with few opportunities to admire such beauty. Furthermore, rainy days further limit the chances to witness the full moon.
But you need not be disheartened.
In my heart, there is a bright full moon,
A reunion lasting through the ages, never lacking.
The moon in the sky may not always be full, but the moon within can remain constant.
Nurture a full moon within your heart to truly experience the fullness of the moon.
Even if our lives span a hundred years,
Completeness is unexpected, while lack is the norm.
Instead of tirelessly seeking external fulfillment,
It's better to cultivate richness within.
With a bright and expansive heart,
The world inside remains unclouded,
With a luminous heart, the world is clear and transparent.
As long as you nurture a strong and bright heart,
Let the sky be uncertain, with its clouds and changing moons,
Let the earth experience the impermanence of blooming and withering,
In my heart, there is a bright and full moon, serene and free.
